The COVID-19 virus is wreaking havoc on schools, stores, businesses — and events. As in-person concerts, talks and big gatherings are cancelled and people spend more time at home, LAist is temporarily switching our events column to a “nonevents” column to help us through this time of social distancing.
Until it’s safe to go out again, please consider contributing to your local arts organizations, or to individual artists during this difficult time.
This weekend, from the comfort and relative safety of your couch, watch the Coachella documentary, Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s solo stage show of Fleabag or the Risk! storytelling show. Other options include music shows from Co-Trilla, Jesse Malin and Emo Nite as well as a Bob’s Burgers Trivia Night.
Stage Version of Fleabag
Watch the theatrical production of Emmy-winner Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s hit solo show this weekend via Amazon and other platforms. Funds from screenings of the filmed show will go to several UK-based charities combating the COVID-19 pandemic. The show debuts April 10 and will be available for a 48-hour download.
Couchella – 20 Years in the Desert
Since Coachella is postponed until October 2020, watch this documentary that features stories and performances dating back 20 years. And you don’t have to deal with the heat, the crowds or the porta potties. The movie premieres on YouTube Originals on Friday at noon.
