On Feb. 2 during Super Bowl LIV in Miami, Jennifer Lopez and Shakira put on a halftime show to remember. Their captivating, high-energy performances — both solo and together — were praised by critics and viewers. In fact, 103 million viewers tuned in to watch the spectacle — that’s 1 million more than watched the actual football game itself. While the Federal Communications Commission announced weeks later that it had received more than 1,000 complaints about the “risqué” halftime show, Billboard reported another noteworthy statistic: Following the extravaganza, Shakira and J.Lo’s song catalog sales increased by 893%!
