Legendary’s blockbuster Godzilla vs. Kong hits HBO Max next month, roughly a week after its overseas premiere. After some pandemic-related scheduling shifts, Variety reports that the upcoming monster epic will release in theaters internationally on March 26, with the North American launch on HBO Max coming March 31.
This will be the fourth installment in the cinematic universe that began to take shape with 2014’s Godzilla and 2017’s Kong: Skull Island. The most recent Godzilla picture, Michael Dougherty’s King of the Monsters, was released in 2019 and grossed $386 million worldwide.
Back in December, Warner Bros. announced that it would release its entire 2021 slate—including Godzilla vs. Kong, Dune, and The Matrix 4—on HBO Max. You can watch Godzilla vs. Kong when it premieres in March by subscribing to HBO Max. The new over-the-top streaming service brings together the best of HBO, DC Entertainment, Cartoon Network, the Criterion Collection, Max Originals, Studio Ghibli, and a ton of other great movies and shows.
