The latest James Bond film, “No Time to Die” – which is Daniel Craig’s swan song as the iconic secret agent – has been delayed yet again due to ongoing COVID concerns around the globe. The film, directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga, has been shifted from a theatrical release date of April 2 to Oct. 8.
“No Time to Die” was originally scheduled to come out in U.S. theaters April 10, 2020, but became the first of many high-profile films last year – a list that also included Marvel’s “Black Widow” and Universal’s “F9” – to be delayed: In 007’s case to Nov. 25, 2020, before it was then moved to this year in October.
A slew of Sony movies also were pushed on Thursday. “Ghostbusters: Afterlife,” a high-profile revisiting of the 1980s comedy-horror franchise, is moving from June 11 to Nov. 11; “Cinderella” with Camila Cabello has been delayed from Feb. 5 to July 16; the family-friendly sequel “Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway” is shifting from April 2 to June 11; and the Tom Holland adventure “Uncharted,” based on the video game, is moving to Feb. 11, 2022, from its July 16 date.
