While Hudson has access to some of the best hairstylists in the world, she said during a March 2018 appearance on the Lorraine Show that she actually asked her youngest son Bingham and her director (and close friend) Sia to chop off her previously long blonde locks.
My little one and Sia took clippers to it. It’s funny because when you’re doing it for a role you don’t really think about it because you’re just ready for it. You’re like, ‘Let’s do this.’ But when it was done, it was like: ‘Oh, my head’s shaved,’” she shared. “I really loved it, I actually miss it. My boyfriend [Danny Fujikawa] used to rub my head and it would put me right to sleep. I’ll never forget that sensation of just falling asleep to him rubbing my head. I’d never felt anything like that before.”
It didn’t take long for Hudson’s hair to return, and while many stars would have opted to forgo the time consuming grow-out process in favor of wigs and extensions, the Fabletics designer has been proudly sporting short styles ever since.
