October is Campus Sustainability Month and the Office of Sustainability at Texas A&M is celebrating with a variety of virtual events and giveaways.

The free, virtual events provide an opportunity for the campus community to participate in curated talks featuring Texas A&M faculty who are leaders in their field as well as faculty from other Texas institutions of higher education, said Office of Sustainability Director Kelly Wellman.

“Our partnership with the Texas Regional Alliance for Campus Sustainability provides a unique opportunity to attend events hosted by and with fellow Texas campuses,” Wellman said. “Additionally, our undergraduate student intern team has assembled a myriad of sustainability topics to share with their peers and the local community.”

Wellman said Texas A&M embraces a holistic understanding of sustainability. “We recognize the interconnectedness of balancing a healthy economy with social equity and a healthy environment.”

The virtual events feature Office of Sustainability student interns, campus stakeholders, faculty and state partners giving 20-minute TED-talk style virtual presentations on sustainability grand challenges and everyday actions.

Attend two virtual events to get a water bottle, three to get a T-shirt, and five to get both, while supplies last.
