The top-10 matchup between Iowa and Iowa State tomorrow has attracted ESPN’s College GameDay to Ames. It has also attracted a pretty famous celebrity guest picker.

In a video posted to social media by the College GameDay Twitter account, Iowa native Ashton Kutcher announced that he would be on the set tomorrow morning. Known for his role as Michael Kelso on That 70’s Show, Kutcher broke out one of the character’s most famous gags.

“Who’s got two thumbs and is the celebrity guest picker tomorrow morning on ESPN on College GameDay? This guy,” Kutcher said. Perhaps tipping his final pick for Saturday morning, Kutcher ended the video with an emphatic “Go Hawkeyes!”

Few of these in-state rivalry matchups between the Hawkeyes and Cyclones have carried as much weight nationally as this one will, but Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz is used to this game being a battle. That’s how it’s been for quite some time now.

“I was just going to say, I can’t remember this not being a tough game, but I can go back to the ’80s and there were a couple that weren’t so tough,” Ferentz said. “But the last 20, 22 years, any time we’ve lined up, it’s been a tough challenge. I think records have been different during that through the course of time certainly, but you just always expect it to be a real battle, and this one I think will be the same way.

“It just so happens right now that both of us have teams that have had some success. The big difference is that you look at our game from last time, there’s a lot of guys on that film in their red uniforms that are still there, and a lot of guys in our white uniforms that weren’t there, so that’s probably the biggest difference. But they’ve done a great job, and they’ve got a really good football team right now, and we have our hands full, I know that.”
