The 2022 recruiting cycle is about to heat up as the NCAA’s extended recruiting dead period comes to an end on June 1. But the dead period has not stopped some of the top high school football players in the country from announcing where they will play in college.

As a result, the Big Ten Conference has added a few major commitments in recent weeks, so we have decided to check in on the recruiting classes for every team in the league heading into the summer.

According to the 247Sports Composite Team Rankings, the Big Ten currently boasts 10 of the top 50 recruiting classes in the country, including three teams ranked inside the top seven nationally.

It should be noted that verbal commitments are non-binding and prospects in the 2022 class will not be able to make it official until the Division I Early Signing Period, which begins on Dec. 15, 2021, and ends on Dec. 17, 2021. Those who elect not to sign during the early period will be able to do so on National Signing Day on Feb. 2, 2022.
